Symposium Overview

We invite you to join us for this continuing nursing education symposium that will address the latest innovations in cancer care. The symposium will present up-to-date information on a variety of cancer care topics, including new and novel therapies and disease updates, end of life care, legal developments, genetic screening considerations, and targeted supportive care. This activity has been approved for 7 hours of CNE and ACPE credit.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

Identify the unique ethical and legal challenges oncology nurses face in caring for patients with cancer.

Describe available diagnostic tools and advances in treatment for various solid tumors and hematologic malignancies.

Recognize the options for a multidisciplinary approach to palliative care for cancer patients.

Summarize the basis for pathway driven treatment of cancer and precision medicine.

Discuss how harnessing the patient’s own immune repertoire advances the treatment of cancer, including identifying available immunologic agents.
